We Are Not The Virus

An uplifting spoken word film exploring themes of isolation through Black and migrant perspectives in the UK.

We Are Not The Virus is a hopeful ode to frontline workers, the piece striving to counteract negative narratives with the idea that, collectively, we can combat any virus. Whether that be a physical one, or one affecting our spiritual or mental selves.

Filmed in Lockdown commissioned for Culture in Quarantine by Arts Council England and BBC Arts.

Written, Produced and Directed by Michael Jenkins
