A beautiful exploration of UK carnival culture, from the lens of black women and told through dance, music and mas costume. This alternative parade is realised through the streets and gardens of individual black artists – the everyday Queens, dressed in full carnival attire, dancing to original afrobeats and soca-inspired music. Choreography by Precious Onyenekwu Tatah.

Filmed in Lockdown is a series of new works of literary, musical, visual, and performance arts, commissioned for Culture in Quarantine by Arts Council England and BBC Arts.

Produced and Directed by Somina Fombo
